How it all began… …

After 10 years working on hundreds of projects for jewellery brands and 30 years as a freelance miniature painter for the world’s leading watch brands, I decided in 2023 to offer an exclusive collection of 18k gold watches with hand-painted dials bearing the name André Martinez.

Why this collection?

First of all, to give free rein to my imagination and create creations on which I can express my own creativity, or that of my customer who wants a personalized dial.

As these are unique and exclusive pieces, customers can ask me to personalize their watches:
inscriptions on the dial, oscillating weight painted with a particular motif, a signature or dedication.

In this way, customers participate in the entire process of creating their timepiece.

A certificate of authenticity is, of course, delivered with the watch.

Case design

I wanted an original case. I designed it to bear my signature. The case serves as a frame for all my miniature paintings created as one-off pieces in the André Martinez Collection.

These timepieces are offered in 18k 750 pink gold and 750 white.
The case is structured in 3 parts: the bezel, the case and the back, which is opened to reveal the movement, on which the oscillating mass is also in 18k gold.

The case has a diameter of 42 millimeters, is 9.6 mm thick and weighs 80 grams of gold, making it a very pleasant and refined watch to wear.
The 2 anti-reflective sapphire crystals make reading the hours and back even easier.

The movement

As I’m not a watchmaker and don’t want to offer complicated movements that I don’t master, with the risk of breakdowns, I decided to offer a mechanical movement renowned for its robustness and reliability, which can be easily maintained by any trained watchmaker.
The well-known ETA 2892-2 Automatic movement comes with a 2-year warranty.

The strap 

Made in Switzerland, the strap is in genuine rubber.
This choice means I don’t have to use crocodile or other animal skins. It’s also easy to replace.
